Escape the city and experience the natural beauty and delicious seafood of Rayong, especially around the Ban Phe and Koh Samet areas.

For a cozy, homelike stay, try Baan Khun Yai Mai Khun Ta Homestay. It offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like part of the family. Originally, this was the home of the grandparents who built it for their three daughters, and the rooms are now sectioned off with a shared, comfortable common area.

The backyard has been expanded to include modern concrete rooms. The name of the homestay comes from the grandmother, who saved up to build the house, while the grandfather personally sourced the wood to construct it. Many visitors who stay here are typically tourists engaging in water activities at Mae Ramphueng Beach.

If you’re planning a trip to Koh Samet, don’t forget to stop by Elephante Cafe, a restaurant-café located near the pier to the island. They serve food, coffee, and desserts. Coffee lovers shouldn’t miss out—the café grows and roasts its own beans! During the rainy season, it’s the perfect spot to relax with a slice of cake, coffee, and ice cream in a serene, slow-paced setting.

A must-visit destination in Rayong is the Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park, with its scenic viewpoints and nature trails. You can either hike uphill or walk along the coastal path—each route offers a unique experience. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon when many people come to enjoy the romantic sunset.

Entrance Fees to the National Park:

  • Thai Nationals: Adults 40 THB, Children 20 THB
  • Foreigners: Adults 200 THB, Children 100 THB

The park also offers accommodations, including bungalows for two people at 800 THB per night, and designated camping areas at Ao Luk Yon, Sai Kaew Beach, and Ao Wong Duean, with a tent fee of 30 THB per person.

End your day at Bari Bar, a seafood restaurant with a delightful ambiance and delicious dishes. Don’t miss the stir-fried calamari with basil and the seasonal Thai sashimi made from freshly caught local fish. The restaurant is located at the end of Suan Son Beach and is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If you’re too full to leave, there’s accommodation nearby, run by the same owner!
